I loved reading this! I WANT MORE. The artwork is so, so, so beautiful and amazing! The story is epic!

it was good and dramatic and I could not get my eyes out of the pages

The book "Dragon Ball Z Vol.1" by Akira Toriyama is about Goku an alien called a Sayian who was sent from space to a planet called earth and his soul purpose was destroy the earth but ended up being the earths greatest hero. After Gokus home planet was destroyed there were 4 saiyians remaining and one of them being Gokus brother Raditz that he had no idea about. Raditz came to earth to try to reunite his brother Goku with the remaining Sayians. But Goku had other plans Raditz had a far great pow The book "Dragon Ball Z Vol.1" by Akira Toriyama is about Goku an alien called a Sayian who was sent from space to a planet called earth and his soul purpose was destroy the earth but ended up being the earths greatest hero. Also Raditz was not their biggest problem the other 2 Sayians had farther greater powers from Raditz. Who wins the fight and how do the other two Sayains respond? Overall this book was a great book to enjoy and take a break from life because It has action, a bit of comedy and crazy. It's PG13 so everyone can read it. I recommend this book to anybody because any reading level will understand this book and it's overall just a fun book to read. The best character to enjoy from this book is Goku because he can teach people life lessons. No matter how tough the situations get and if they seem impossible he will always find a way to over come it and that relates with me because I face tough challenges in the water everyday and Goku helps me get through it because I imagine that he was in 1000 times worse situations than me so I can imagine to my self that what I am doing is very easy even though it's not. I didn't know what to expect. This was my first manga. I loved the series when I was a kid, but it's been decades since I had seen or read anything Dragon Ball related, so I wasn't sure if I would still like it, but I did. It was funny, and a different feel and experience from what I remember of the series. It was a nice distraction from our world on fire and falling apart. I am looking forward to reading more of them. I didn't know what to expect. This was my first manga. I loved the series when I was a kid, but it's been decades since I had seen or read anything Dragon Ball related, so I wasn't sure if I would still like it, but I did. It was funny, and a different feel and experience from what I remember of the series. It was a nice distraction from our world on fire and falling apart. It is good book, even though comics, but it tell me a lot about how to over come the problem.

I'd give this a 9.5/10
and here is why.

Everyone knows the story of Dragon Ball but for mega-fans this release is great. And the paper quality isn't that bad, if I had an issue it's that this and original Dragon Ball in some parts are partially censored. This isn't too bad. But original Dragon Ball has some of the funny parts removed from what I heard. It's an amazing classic Shonen that new manga fans or new dragon ball fans can easily excess without having to spend too much.

This is so much easier to read dragon ball than to watch the episodes or seasons because
🐉 ball z vizbig volume has 9
🐲 ball vizbig volume has 5
💐And dragon ball super has 15 volume so yeah is going to be easy to finish it
But I love dragon ball and the characters with all my heart ❤️

At first, I was like "oh man this is dumb" and then I was like "OH MAN THIS IS DUMB"
This is basically three volumes of beefcake himbos kicking the shit out of each other with gay undertones. Love it.

I really enjoyed the book "Dragon Ball Z Vol 1" by Akira Toriyama because of the amazing artwork, and captivating storyline. I was never really a fan of the Dragon Ball Z series, probably because I never actually read or watched it... But now I can definitely say i'm a fan. The book was essentially about Son Goku, an alien called a Saiyan, and his friends who have to try to save planet earth from 4 other Saiyans, including Goku's brother, Raditz, who attempted to destroy it. However, Goku was stuck in another world while the earth was being attacked, so his friends had to attempt to hold them off until Goku was able to make his way back to save the day. What can I say except...WOW! I LOVE THIS SERIES! I have reread this series SO many times and I just can't get tired of it. With that said where should I start?

This volume expands from the previous Dragon Ball, Vol. 1: The Monkey King, continuing the story of Goku and friends. We get to find out more about Goku's origins and how it plays into his amazing strength! It wasn't so much a surprising reveal as much as it was exciting to think about all the new challenges that the characters would have to face in the future! The characters, new and old, don't disappoint either! You cannot walk away from this series and not think that at least one character is awesome in both art design and in character! With Kuririn's humor, Goku's silliness, and even Vegeta's smugness I think it would be pretty hard not to love at least one of these fighters or even non-fighters (GO BULMA).
The art style that Toriyama does is very light and fun which is a bit jarring for a fighting anime, and even for some of the more gruesome parts of the manga, but I think it works in its favor. When these characters get hurt you really feel for them because you don't expect the art style to reflect some of the more gruesome scenes. I also find that this art style is very easy visually to follow because your eyes are not lost in so much detail. You are focused more on the actions of the characters instead of how they are drawn.
Overall I think this is a great first volume for the series and I can't wait to reacquaint myself with the rest of the manga. If you are looking for a fun fighting anime and are new to the whole manga scene then this is a great place to start! :D

The series became more action and fighting focused with the Piccolo storyline previously, but fantasy turned to science fiction with the revelation of Goku and Piccolo both being aliens.

This edition represents a huge jump forward fr the series and a marked change in tone. The series became more action and fighting focused with the Piccolo storyline previously, but fantasy turned to science fiction with the revelation of Goku and Piccolo both being aliens.

Raditz is the first bad guy to arrive, and the Goku and Piccolo teamup is a strong fight. I love the running theme of the series, where the positive influence of Goku leads to the reformation of many of the villains he fights, including Piccolo. The violence is increased from previous fights, and the dramatic conclusion to the Raditz fight is rather shocking.

The imminent arrival of the Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa sparks the training of all of Earth's heroes: Piccolo, Gohan, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Chaozu. This is one of the last times most of the cast is able to meaningfully contribute; and frankly, they don't contribute much here, either. I do wish there was more of a place for the beloved cast of Earthlings as the saga progresses and the villains become more and more outrageously powerful.

The fight with Nappa is quite entertaining, as it seems like the Earthlings have a shot, and would likely be able to take him on if Vegeta wasn't there to give advice. Of course, our heroes are decimated, and Goku arrives just in time to save Gohan and Kuririn. The fight with Nappa is quick, and Goku's fight with Vegeta is in my opinion the single greatest fight of the series, and it only just begins in the final chapters.

This book is about the greatest warrior of earth, Son Goku! He and his awesome fighting monk friends fight for the sake of the earth and the power of the dragon balls--magical 7 balls that can grant any wish--not to fall into evil hands. This installment contains the first 3 manga volumes of the original dragon ball z series. I really liked this book because of its action, comedy, and also the fact that I just really like dragon ball z and manga+anime in general. If you have seen the anime and liked it, great! You'll probably like this, too. If you didn't like the anime but haven't read this, I still think you should try it. I'd say about 9+ in terms of ages (depending on maturity) and reader's ready for a thrill! The incredibly awesome story of Son Goku's later years begins!

The main character is goku he is the protector of earth he as super abilities. His son goku and scary child has to take his farther spot in a war in to he gets wish back from other world. This war causes four death of life. I really enjoy this book and can say this type of stories make me want to read. My favorite person in this story is goku the legendary super sayain. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of three volumes. The story was set at a much quicker pace than the anime, and I really liked how I was given just the story without all of the filler of the anime (though I really do enjoy that filler while watching). The characters were really great, and while certain names were difficult to get used to, as they were different than the English dub for the anime, I was still able to get the story without becoming confused. The pictures were well drawn and to I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of three volumes. The story was set at a much quicker pace than the anime, and I really liked how I was given just the story without all of the filler of the anime (though I really do enjoy that filler while watching). The characters were really great, and while certain names were difficult to get used to, as they were different than the English dub for the anime, I was still able to get the story without becoming confused. The pictures were well drawn and told much of the story, as the fight scenes didn't contain a lot of dialogue.

Overall, I really liked the story, and while I had to substitute certain names of characters and attacks, it didn't take away from the enjoyment. I would probably read it again.
